Sentra SE
| | Model of the car: | Sentra SE | | | General comments: | This is a great car for the money. The SE model features the late, great SR20DE engine which has 145hp and a healthy amount of torque which is totally absent on some other cars, most notably the Civic.
The SR motor has been replaced on the top of the line model, the SE-R with the 2.5 liter QR25DE which is shared with the Altima. Personally, I feel the old motor is the better and more reliable motor but the QR has more power.
The other motor currently available is the 1.8 liter QG18DE which, although not terribly powerful at 126hp is a very efficient and reliable engine.
My car has 82,000 miles on it and has not had one major problem so far!
After five years of this body style it is beginning to look old, but for some who don't like flash this car looks good. The 2004 freshening of the front end looks awful to me though. We call it the "bucktooth".
The main strength of the sentra is the value. You can get one for much less than a comparably equipped Civic or Corolla and have better performance as a bonus. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Interior is kinda plain, but functional. Paint could be better. | | | Previous car: | 2002 Honda Civic LX is my stepmom's car and even she wishes she got a car like mine instead! |
