| | Model of the car: | SE W Perf Pkg | | | General comments: | So here's the story: Had a 1998 Volvo and a 1992 Camry as second car. When we got our second child, my wife was able to convince me to switch to a minivan. We also realized that having a large sedan along with the van was useless, so we wanted to get a nice small car for my day to day driving, especially since I travel a lot for work. So we got rid of both the Volvo and the Camry and got a 2001 MPV and the Sentra (of course, I got it in 5-speed).The Sentra would replace the Volvo for my business travel, so it better perform well. As it turns out, the Sentra is simply such a pleasure to drive that I quickly forgot about the Swedish boat. It's small and swift, it goes anywhere and really kicks butt getting there! Acceleration is quite impressive, with a nice sweet spot between 4.000 and 5,500 RPM. The performance suspension, along with the 16" wheels allows it to handle curves remarkebly well, with minimal body roll, while still smooth enough to make longer rides feel comfortable. The seats have great support and I especially enjoy the ample cabin storage compartments, a must for road warriors like myself. What I thought I would miss the most about the Volvo is how it remains smooth and stable at higher speeds. I haven't had the chance to push the Sentra to the limit yet, but I can say that at 150 KM | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | 1. If only we could have leather seats; 2. Its Name - for many, Sentra equals small economy car, but the SE | | | Previous car: | Volvo S-70 (that's right! read story below) Mazda Protege ES (w GT pkg) and Protege 5 - nice job on the exterior design, but when I drove it, it didn't feel like a serious car, but rather like something made for Barbie. Acura Civic, uh 1.6 EL. |
